On our way to Costa Rica, via Miami Airport. Check out the beautiful colons, Costa Rican currency!
We met up with our group at the Hotel Bouganvilla. The hotel has 10 acres of beautiful gardens with 180 different types of trees, 22 types of bromeliads, 51 species of orchids, and lots of ornamental flowers. We roamed around the beautiful gardens before our group orientation.

Tomorrow we head out to explore the rainforests of Costa Rica and observe the biodiversity firsthand with the expertise of our guide, Jimmy Trejos Camacho. What do we have to look forward to in this amazing country that is #6 in the world in terms of biodiversity? 920 bird species, 249 mammals, 241 reptiles, 207 amphibians, 1187 fish, 114 bats, 12,000 butterflies, 48,000 other invertebrates, and 12,000 plant species!

The rainclouds moved into the valley this evening, shielding our view of the mountains. We can expect a lot of rain on this trip. Afterall,we will be in the rainforest where it is either rainy or rainier!
Nine eager travelers are looking forward to a phenomenal experience starting tomorrow!
